Cargineer Privacy Policy
Effective: 2026-08-09 (last revised 2026-08-19 — added iCloud sync; applies from app v1.4.0)

Cargineer ("the app") takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what the app handles, what stays on your device, and what it collects to improve the app.
1. Summary
- Your vehicle records are never sent to the developer's servers. Vehicle details, fuel logs, service logs, and photos are stored on your device.
- iCloud sync is optional and off by default. Turning it on stores those records in your own Apple Account (iCloud) and syncs them across devices signed in to that account. They still never reach the developer's servers, and the developer cannot access them.
- The app has no accounts — no sign-up, no sign-in.
- To improve quality, the app collects anonymous, non-identifiable usage statistics and crash diagnostics only.
- Collected information is never sold and never shared for advertising.
2. Stored on your device (never sent to the developer)
The following stays on your device and is not sent to the developer's servers:
- Vehicle details (nickname, maker/model/trim, model year, license plate, fuel type, odometer, photo)
- Fuel logs (date, odometer, volume, unit price, amount, full-tank flag, currency)
- Service logs and service interval settings
- App settings (theme, notifications, units, currency)
Deleting the app from your device deletes this information with it.
2-1. If you turn on iCloud sync (optional, off by default)
When you turn on iCloud sync in Settings → Sync, the information above (including vehicle photos) is stored in your own Apple Account's iCloud and synced across devices signed in to that account.
- It lives in your iCloud; the developer cannot access it.
- For Apple's handling, see Apple's Privacy Policy.
- You can turn it off at any time. After that, changes stay on the device.
- Vehicle photos are included, so they use your iCloud storage.
3. Collected to improve the app
The app uses Google Firebase to collect the following non-identifiable information.
| Tool | What is collected | Purpose |
| Firebase Analytics |
Anonymous usage events (e.g. screen views, record added, onboarding completed), approximate device / app version / region |
Understanding which features are used, to improve them |
| Firebase Crashlytics |
Crash logs and diagnostics such as device model and OS version |
Finding and fixing errors to improve stability |
- This information contains no personal identifiers — no name, no email, and none of your vehicle records.
- It is transmitted to and processed by Google. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- The app does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not serve personalized ads.
4. Permissions
- Camera / Photos: used only to attach a photo to a vehicle. Photos are stored on your device, and — if iCloud sync is on — in your own iCloud.
- Notifications: used only for local service reminders. Notifications are generated on your device — no server push is involved. You can turn them off in Settings.
5. Retention and deletion
- On-device data: kept until you delete it in the app or remove the app. Settings → "Delete all data" removes everything at any time.
- Data in iCloud: deleting it with "Delete all data" in the app also removes it from your synced devices and iCloud. You can also delete it in iOS Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Storage.
- Diagnostics and usage statistics: handled according to Google Firebase's retention policy.
6. Children's privacy
The app is not directed to children under 14, and does not knowingly collect information from them.
7. Changes to this policy
This policy may be revised as needed. When it changes, the effective date on this page is updated.
